Prologue

Hi there, we're PopCanon. We're a NoisePop AvantPunk IdiotRock band from Gainesville FL. In March of 2000, after years of playing small clubs in and around Florida, Georgia and Alabama on long weekends, we finally decided to pack up the van and hit the road in time-honored Rock Band fashion for a Real Tour. After literally months of booking calls and logistical struggles and chicanery involved in getting two weeks off work, we nailed down a ten day route of shows along I95 during Spring Break. For laughs -- and to make the logistics even more mind-boggling -- we planned to play most shows with the band Idiot Savant Garde, a delightful mathrock trio from State College PA. Here follows a day-by-day recounting of The Tour, which we came to call The I95 North C-Pigs Tour 'ought 'ought, for reasons which may become clear once you've read the text...

This diary was written by me, Ned Davis, PopCanon guitarist/singer and main tour booker, based on my contemporaneous journal, with certain comments and editorial revisions from other band members later appropriated (or 'stolen') by me within the text. The Diary was html'ed by PopCanon WebMonkey and bassist Michael Murphy. The pix were taken by Michael and Jason Fagone, drummer of wondrous touring partner Idiot Savant Garde. All errors, omissions and self-indulgent claptrap are my sole responsibility.
